At Fifty Five and Free Community Development Corporation  we are a nonprofit community development corporation dedicated to solving the affordable housing crisis for active adults aged 55 and over as well as veterans across the Atlanta metropolitan area and the state of Georgia.

We believe that after a lifetime of contribution--whether in workforce or in uniform--every senior and veteran deserves a safe , and affordable place to call home.

THE CHALLENGE 

Like the rest of the nation Georgia is facing a severe housing shortage. Too many active seniors and veterans find themselves priced out of the communities they helped build. Rising rents, fixed incomes, and lack of available units have turned the search for affordable housing into a crisis.

Our SOLUTION

We are bridging the gap between community need and community development. 55andfree.org works to acquire, develop and preserve that is high quality and financially accessible. We don't just build structures; we build communities where our residence can thrive with dignity, security, and independence
